• Question: How many elements have been discovered by spectroscopy?

      Hi @528sped27, @DanielWinstanley. I am afraid I cannot give you a number of different elements discovered by spectroscopy but I am sure that many of them have only been possible to discovered thanks to spectroscopic techniques. One case that I tell my students in the nobel gas Helium that was discovered (or rather proven its existance) by analysing the sun spectrum using spectroscopy.

      @528sped27- there are many elements that were discovered using spectroscopy and in particular line spectroscopy…rubidium was discovered this way…
