YES! Scientist here, useless at practicals/manual skills…….
Science does need lots of people that have got manual dexterity/skill(which I distinctly lack…)! for working in labs but there are also plenty other areas in science(such as computational physics, mathematics, theoretical chemistry) where these skills not needed.
My point is, do not despair if your titrations in chemistry or physics experiments just don’t seem to work at school-you can still pursue a science degree! Basically I chose lots of theory options instead of experiments at uni…..all depends on course. You will have to do some. You’ll survive! I actually thoroughly enjoyed them at uni due to a different climate of “we expect to see funny things happen, these are interesting” 🙂
